What BioSyn provides
BioSyn offers free, browser-based calculators and educational content for molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cell culture and general laboratory math. The tools are provided for research, teaching and learning. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Results are estimates, not guarantees
Every calculation on BioSyn is an estimate based on standard formulas, average constants and the inputs you provide. Real laboratory conditions differ: reagents have purity below 100%, solution volume changes with temperature, instruments have their own calibration and manufacturers publish protocol-specific guidance that can diverge from a textbook formula.
BioSyn calculators are not clinical, diagnostic, medical or regulatory tools, and they are not a substitute for experimental verification. You are responsible for confirming any result against your own protocol, your reagent specifications and your manufacturer's documentation before relying on it. Your protocol and manufacturer guidance always take precedence over any number shown on this site.

The site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We work hard to keep formulas accurate and sources current, but we do not warrant that the tools are error-free or that any result will be correct for your specific use.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BioSyn and the BioSyn Scientific Editorial Team are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, any calculator, guide or other content on this site — including experimental loss, data loss, lost profits or any harm resulting from a decision made using our tools.
Educational use and citation
You may use BioSyn freely for personal, educational and commercial research work. You may link to any page. If you reproduce calculator content or guides in full elsewhere, attribute BioSyn and link back to the original page. Do not present our content as your own primary research or strip the cited sources from it.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site in any way that damages, disables or impairs it, attempts to gain unauthorised access to any system, or violates applicable law. The calculators are intended for legitimate scientific and educational purposes.
Advertising
